How NET-C works
A quick tour of what you can do here. Most features need a free account; reading this guide does not.
Community
The staffroom feed is where members ask questions and share what works in class.
- The topic in the sidebar is what your post is about. Post in the one that fits best, or General if none does.
- The type of post is what kind of post it is: Question, Discussion, Resource, Job or opportunity, or Announcement. It shows as a badge on your post.
- Questions appear under the Unanswered filter, so use it to find posts you can help with. Once you have your answer, choose Mark as answered on your question; moderators can do this too.
Resources
A shared library of lesson notes, past questions, schemes of work and audio.
- Every upload is checked. New files show as Pending review to you alone until a moderator approves them. Only approved files appear in the library, and the best get a Verified badge.
- Nigerian and international curricula. Choose a curriculum when you upload or filter. Nigerian resources use JSS1 to SSS3; international ones use Year 7 to Year 13, with the matching US grade and exam stage shown beside each year.
- Filter by exam. Nigerian: WAEC, NECO, JAMB, BECE. International: Cambridge Checkpoint, Cambridge IGCSE, Cambridge AS & A Level, Pearson Edexcel, AQA, OCR, IB, SAT, IELTS, TOEFL.
- Add the source and copyright status if the file is not your own. Never upload live or leaked exam papers.
Research
Short, teacher-friendly summaries of research on English language education.
- Paste a link to a paper and the AI assistant drafts a summary and a classroom takeaway. Check and edit it before you publish.
- Upvote summaries you found useful and discuss them in the comments.
Jobs and opportunities
The noticeboard lists jobs, workshops, grants and fellowships for English teachers, each with its closing date.
- The next deadline shows on the homepage; the full list is under Opportunities once you sign in.
- Applications go straight to the organiser's own site. Check each listing's eligibility.
- Know of an opening? Email it to hello@netc.com.ng.
Blog
Longer articles by members. Reading the blog is open to everyone.
- Write an article, save drafts, then choose Send for review. An editor checks it before it is published.
- If changes are needed, the reviewer's notes appear on your draft.
AI Labs
AI tools to save prep time. Treat their output as a first draft, not a final answer.
- Lesson Architect drafts a lesson plan, activities and evaluation questions for your topic. You can share the result to Resources.
- WAEC-style essay practice gives an estimated score and feedback on typed or photographed student essays. It is not affiliated with WAEC.
- Teacher's Radio plays short audio briefings of research shared by the community.
